My dear bookish friends!
It’s time for me to do another BOOK TAG! I love them and over the past couple of months I was tagged in quite a few, but I was so busy that didn’t get to do any of them!!! π But enough of the sad faces now, as I will try to catch up with all the fun tags from now on! Happy face! π
For the 20 Questions Book Tag I was tagged by my dear friends Sabrina and Ellie – thank you both so much for thinking of me! By clicking on their names above, you can read their answers to these bookish questions.
And now – let’s get started with the bookish fun!
The 20 Questions Book Tag
1. How many books are too many books in a series?
Oooh, starting off quite tricky already! I think everything more than three books makes me nervous. Lol. Because yes, if I read on after the first book I probably really like it, but after a while I might want to get a break from that world. However, there are also some series where I could just read ten or twenty (or thirty, you get the picture), and I wouldn’t get bored (*cough* ACOTAR *cough*), so I guess it depends on the series!
2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?
Omg. Okay, well… if I have the next book ready I’m okay with them. But having to wait for the next book in a series, maybe even over a year… that will probably frustrate me very, very much – I might even turn away from the series altogether (but probably only until I hear the news that the next book is published. I’m very weak when it comes to books…) π
3. Hardback or Paperback?
Hmm. Hardback used to be the Holy Grail – I always wanted to have all the hardbacks for a while. They look so beautiful on the shelf! But actually, I find them pretty hard to read – and they hurt a lot more when you let them fall on your face than your phone! (Lol, but really!) Also, my wrists hurt after a while, so they are a bit like many of those pretty people with low IQs in reality tv shows: pretty to look at but otherwise pretty much useless. So lately I tend to navigate to paperbacks! They’re easier to hold, lighter to carry, and cheaper! Win – win – win!!!
4. Favourite book?
Gaah, UNFAIR! I can’t possibly answer this question because my favourites seem to change a lot. Whenever I read a five star book that draws me into its bookish world this tends to be my favourite – until the next 5 star arrives. But some of my most memorable favourites are probably A Court of Mist and Fury (OMG!!!) and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, just because I love them both so much!
5. Least favourite book?
I’m not sure if this is my least favourite really but it’s definitely one that disappointed me a lot: Uprooted by Naomi Novik. I know that many people loved this, but I was expecting something totally different and got so confused by so many things lol.
6. Love triangles, yes or no?
Hmm, mostly no. No, really, totally, completely no. Lol. I yet need to be convinced by a book with a love triangle that doesn’t make me want to throw the book out the window in frustration!
7. The most recent book you just couldnβt finish?
Ummm… Oh, now I remember: It was my last buddy read (last as in, the one before this one, not the final, lol) with my friend Stephen, Tuesday Mooney Talks to Ghosts by Kate Racculia. It sounded so good but we both couldn’t get into it at all. I will not DNF it forever, but I have put it away for now and hope that I will like it more when I pick it up again – whenever that may be!
8. A book youβre currently reading?
Soooooo many! Lately I have at least about 5 books at once that I’m reading, and three of them are currently middle grades: Nightbooks by J.A. White, The Last Spell Breather by Julie Pike, and The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane by Julia Nobel! I’m enjoying them all a lot! Look at all these pretty covers!
9. Last book you recommended to someone?
I think I recommended The Haunting of Aveline Jones a lot lately, it’s really spooky but really good!
10. Oldest book youβve read?
All the classics! Which one is the oldest, I wonder? Maybe some Shakespeare?
11. Newest book youβve read?
I think that might be Bad Habits by Flynn Meaney – it was published in February and I read is as part of a TheWriteReads blog tour! Here is my review in case you are interested π
12. Favourite author?
Again, sooo many! I love a mix of genres, so a lot of different authors: I love Sarah J. Maas, Paige Toon, Sophie Kinsella, but I’m also a huge fan of reading new authors and finding new favourites!
13. Buying books or borrowing books?
I will have to say buying. I know many will give me the side-eye now, but when I read a book it’s like my pet or friend – I love it so much and want it to be mine and I want to see the book on my shelf when I’ve read it. Like my little trophy!
14. A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?
See my answer to question 5.
15. Bookmarks or dog-ears?
I love pretty bookmarks but I never tend to use them lol!! I don’t like to dog-ear and will only do so when I absolutely have to (although I went through a dog-earing phase – bad times, let’s not talk about it!). I tend to think I can REMEMBER the page number and obviously I never can, but luckily I always managed to find my way back into the book xD
16. A book you can always reread?
I don’t reread a lot, but one book that I can reread every Christmas season is Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle! I just love it so much!
17. Can you read while listening to music?
Only really quiet music, but I rather don’t listen to it while I read because it distracts me easily!
18. One POV or multiple POVs?
I think it depends on the story and maybe even the genre. If it’s an adventure I like one POV because I can empathise better with the character, while I feel like mysteries from multiple POVs are more fun sometimes!
19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?
Oh, I wish I had that much time! It definitely takes me multiple days to read a book these days. But I have to say – I love the feeling of thinking about a book you really love and hoping you can get back to it again very soon; the anticipation makes the reading experience even nicer!
20. Who do you tag?
Ellie and Sabrina both tagged a lot of the people I would have tagged otherwise, but I would like to add:
Stephen
Clare
Amy Louise
Becky
If you’ve been tagged already – sorry! And no worries if you don’t want to do this tag! But if you do, please link back to me here – I would love to read your answers!
Thank you all so much for reading!
xoxo
