Editing Services

I have been working as an editor and proofreader for over six years, and it is something I am very passionate about. I’m very committed to helping you achieve your writing goals!

What genres do I edit?

I have edited many genres over the past years, but a great proportion of the manuscripts I’d say were fantasy, but there was also a lot of historical fiction and YA. Since I have a background in children’s and young adult literature I feel my expertise in that area is the biggest, but I am happy to edit other genres as long as we both feel we are the right fit for each other!

Please note:
Not all manuscripts will be accepted. Also, sometimes I have a large backlog and there may be delays.

What about prices?

Because I tailor edits to meet your individual wants and needs, prices will vary from project to project. Usually, I edit your manuscript directly in the document, and you will also get an additional document with additional notes on each individual chapter as well as an overall critique, but I also do proofreads only or offer combination packages. Every project is unique, and so I like to find a unique solution tailored to your individual needs.

How can you be sure I will be the right editor for your book?

Send me the first 3’000 words of your manuscript. I will give you a sample edit from which we will both profit for free. You will get a feel for the way I work, and I will get an overview of your writing and possible issues. This will make it easier to determine the estimated workload so I can give you a fair quote.

How can you get a quote for your manuscript?

As mentioned above, I’m happy to do a sample edit of the first three thousand words of your manuscript. Just send me a word doc (so I can edit in-text), the synopsis of your book, and tell me what exactly it is you are looking for. No strings attached – if you don’t want to proceed with a full edit you don’t have to.

How can you get a sample edit for free?

Please send the first three thousand words of your manuscript along with a synopsis to theartsyreader@gmail.com so I can give you a quote.

If you have any questions at all don’t hesitate to contact me. You can also fill in my contact form if you prefer.

I look forward to working with you!
