Sunshine Blogger Award!

Sooo it took me quite a while to get this post done but – omg, how very exciting! I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Amy @ The Little Booknerds in the Corner. Yay, thank you Amy!!!

Here are the RULES:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you by linking their blog
  2. Answer the questions
  3. Nominate 11 blogs with 11 questions
  4. List the rules as well as display the Sunshine Award Logo on your post

Since I’ve already done number 1 and 4, let’s get straight into Amy’s questions!

1 Do you prefer to read Kindle or physical books?

Oh, definitely physical books! I mean, I know Kindle is convenient and there are some awesome bargains on ebooks, but they just can’t beat the feeling of holding an actual book in your hands, turning the pages or taking in the whiff of them, can they? No, actual books it is!:)

2 Have you tried audiobooks? If you have, what do you think of them?

I’ve only tried it once, for a few minutes, and I didn’t like it at all, so I never tried it again. It could be that this was just this specific audio book, but I just couldn’t get over thinking ‘If I were reading this I would be so much faster!’ I mean it does sound kind of appealing – you could be “reading” so many more books in a day while working on something else and getting the chores done, but I don’t know… Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future 🙂

3 Who’s a blogger you most aspire to? and why.

Ohh, there are so many I like! There is Shirley from Shirley Cuypers – I’m always marveling at the fact that she posts so many book reviews so quickly! How do you do that??? And then there are those super-famous bloggers like Zoella and SprinkleofGlitter who I’ve encountered via YouTube. Their videos and blog posts are usually so uplifting and bubbly that I just enjoy life when I read them – so something every blogger aspires to be, surely?!

4 Can you listen to music while reading? If you can what music do you mostly listen to?

Well, I USED to love the combo of music+books, but at the moment, I cannot concentrate enough so the less noises while I read, the better. When I was a teenager, I used to blast the music of my favorite band Muse so loudly that I’m still marveling at the fact that I even could concentrate enough to read, but it worked out quite well. Lately I can’t stand too loud music, though, so I’ve become more of a silent reader. If I’d have to choose, though, I would listen to Michael Buble, Marit Larsen or Colbie Callait!

5 If you could give the first half of 2018 a rating, what would you give it?

Ohhh, this one’s tough! 2018 has been a rollercoaster ride for me, with a very low start to a much higher middle – thanks to my blog it has improved so much!!

6 What do you enjoy most about blogging?

I really love everything about it so far! I love that I can actually do something about all the books I read anyway – instead of just putting them back on the shelf I can now share my opinion and find others like me – that’s probably the best part! I love getting to know people who share my interests, interacting with them, giving and taking recommendations… it’s amazing! I also really like the fact that I can write. Sounds like a lame one, but it’s so nice to actually have a reason to write, and I love the practice that it gives me.

7 Have you been to any conventions?

Like, gaming and fan-conventions you mean? No, I haven’t… I find them quite interesting but I don’t know if they would be the best place for me – especially when there are huge numbers of people in one place. *shudders*

8 If you could give your past-self advice about blogging what would you tell yourself?

Just do it! I’ve waited so many years to start my blog – I’ve been thinking and contemplating and pondering – like the true over-thinker that I am. But all to no avail – why thinking so much about it and dreaming of it when you can actually live your dream?

9 What time of the day do you normally read the most?

Definitely the evenings / night-time! I love it when it’s so quiet and the world around you is asleep and you can use the silence to dive extra-deep into your book’s fantasy world!

10 How do you plan out your next blog post?

So far they’ve all come quite naturally – either I wrote reviews about the books I’ve read or other posts that came to my mind after my latest read – quite unusual for me, but I haven’t been that much of a planner lately 😀

11 How many completed posts does it take for you to say it’s a ‘good blogging day’?

I think two posts a day has been the highest I’ve posted so far – and that’s made me quite proud:D Especially when it’s been one book review and a tag or something a little different!

And that’s it! I’ve answered all of Amy’s questions! And now onto mine:

  1. What’s the last book or film that made you cry?
  2. Where do you hope/dream to be 5 years from now (especially with your blog)?
  3. What was the last thing you had a really good laugh about?
  4. What’s one thing about you your followers don’t yet know about?
  5. What’s one kind of post you love to read but dislike to write yourself?
  6. If you could only choose one band/singer to listen to and one book to read for the rest of your life, who/what would it be?
  7. You’ve won the lottery! What’s the first thing you buy?
  8. If you could travel back in time, which time period would you choose, and why?
  9. Is there a blogger / YouTuber / star you look up to?
  10. Who was your first celebrity crush?
  11. What’s your favorite blog post you wrote and why? Link it!

  1. Thank you so much for doing my questions – I love your answers. Honestly I’ve been reading a lot of kindle books lately, and honestly I miss the feel of reading an Carla books. I love Muse! I sometimes listen to them too while reading!
