#DecadentDecember – A #HypeathonReadathon Update

Hi everone,

The past few months, but weeks especially, have passed in a rush, and my most anticipated time of the year is finally here. The Hype-A-Thon-Readathon, that my wonderful friend Ellie from ReadtoRamble and I are hosting together has made me read some of the most popular and hyped books out there lately, most of which have been on my TBR for ages. However, I haven’t been as good with keeping track of the updates on my blog, but we uploaded news on our Twitter account HypeThon regularly.

Since it is the end of the year soon, I already know what one of my resolutions for 2020 will be – but even so, updates about the passed months of our readathon will follow shortly! Now, let’s have a look what’s on our reading list for this month!

Since December is all about Christmas and the cosy feeling you get when you think about it (at least for us), we wanted to focus this month on some Christmassy and festive reads, and we let you decide! Here are the two polls we posted on Twitter:

As you can see, the results varied a bit. While almost everyone voted for One Day in December by Josie Silver, the results in the other poll were a bit more evenly distributed, but the pick was My True Love Gave to Me by a bunch of amazing YA authors like Stephanie Perkins and Holly Black.

One Day in December was on my reading list last year already, but I didn’t make it before Christmas and didn’t want to ruin the experience for myself afterwards, so reading it now is the perfect time! My True Love Gave to Me is a book full of short stories that I’ve had for a couple years already, but I didn’t read all of the stories in it. I remember one that made me very sad, but I’m curious to find out how the others will rank.

I can’t wait to read these books and share my reading experience with you guys (which I promise, I will definitely do)! Also, please make sure to stay tuned for the upcoming review post(s) for #StandaloneSeptember, #Spooktober, and #RoyalNovember.

Are you following our Twitter acount HypeThon yet? All the direct info and polls will be on there. Also, are there any popular and very hyped books that seemingly everyone has read, but you haven’t? We’d love to know! We like to schedule each month according to a different theme – so if you have ideas for a topic, let us know please!

Since we are having so much fun with this, we are planning on continuing the readathon well into 2020 – we’d love to have you on board!

Thanks for reading!

xoxo
Noly

  1. I really need to read my true love gave to me! It’s been on my tbr for 2 years now🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😂 another amazing post! You are on a roll!!❤️❤️

  2. I might not have done a very good job at following along to the Hypeathon reads since it launched, but you’re doing an amazing job sticking to the hyped books! I read One Day in December at the end of 2018 and I absolutely loved it. Am tempted to re-read it again this month as a group read on instagram 😂I hope you enjoy it, Noly! Happy reading 😍

    1. Thank you so much, Dini🥰 I‘m sure I will absolutely love it!! If you do decide to give it a reread let me know what you were thinking the second time round🤗

  3. I’ll definitely try to do a better job at including at least one Hypeathon book a month next year! My December is totally booked already though 😇🙈

I hope you enjoy both books! 💛
